Live AI Coastal Briefing

It's Wednesday, 27 May, and I'm stoked to be bringing you the daily coastal weather report from our beautiful harbour location. We're home to 82 iconic colourful bathing boxes and offer calm bay swimming with a stunning city skyline as a backdrop. With the sun still rising, the atmosphere is already looking pretty special, even under a heavy overcast with 95% cloud cover.

Out on the water, conditions are looking fantastic for a range of activities, with a wave height of just 0.52 metres, making it an excellent day for beginners to get out and enjoy the bay. The water temperature is sitting at a cool 15.1 degrees Celsius, so if you're planning to get in the water, a 3/2 full wetsuit is recommended to keep you comfortable. With high tide at 8:21 am and low tide at 1:58 pm, there's plenty of opportunities to make the most of the ocean.

If you're planning on hitting the water or the shoreline for some exercise, today's conditions are looking great, with light winds of just 6 km/h from the south, gusting up to 16 km/h. Surfers will find the small waves perfect for learning or cruising, while runners and cyclists will enjoy the cool 14 degrees Celsius temperature and overcast conditions. Anglers and paddleboarders will also have a great time on the calm waters, and with no rain expected, it's shaping up to be a fantastic day to get outdoors and be active.

As we head into the afternoon, the outlook is for more of the same, with plenty of cloud cover and a gentle breeze, making it a great day to stay outdoors and enjoy all that our beautiful coastal location has to offer. With low UV levels, you don't need to worry about extra sun protection, and the air quality is good, with an EU AQI of 18. So, grab your gear, head on down to the water's edge, and make the most of this stunning day – we'll see you out there.
