Barranco das Canas

On the coast of Portimão, Barranco das Canas occupies the resort coast of Portimão and Alvor, where long beaches and smaller cliff-backed sections stretch west from the mouth of the Arade. Also associated with the Alemão area, this beach sits among deeply cut cliffs and rocky promontories west of Vau.

The character of Barranco das Canas is active and sociable, with swimming, walking, water sports, restaurants and evening life all close at hand. The Landscape

The beach sits among broad sand, rust-coloured cliffs and offshore rock formations, becoming flatter and more dune-backed toward Alvor. Stacks and cliff fragments mark the change from Praia da Rocha’s width to the smaller western bays.
