About INGRINA
Ingrina lies in Vila do Bispo, on the far south-western Algarve, where villages and coves lie between the Atlantic headlands of Sagres and the Costa Vicentina. Ingrina forms a rounded, comparatively sheltered bay east of Zavial, surrounded by low development and coastal scrub.
The Vibe
The character of Ingrina is elemental and independent, marked by wind, surf culture, fishing villages and a stronger sense of distance from the central resorts. People arrive for watching Atlantic weather, but many remain for exploring Sagres and Cape São Vicente and the pleasure of watching the coast change through the day.
Space, light and salt air do most of the work. During the busiest weeks, earlier and later hours are especially rewarding.

Surfers should note the active wave conditions, which are suitable for experienced surfers, and plan their sessions accordingly.

The Setting
The Local Anchor
Its cultural anchor is Sagres and Vila do Bispo, places shaped by fishing, navigation, the nearby Cape of São Vicente and the protected landscapes of the south-west coast. The natural park and seafaring history give this shore a character distinct from central Algarve resorts.
This setting offers more than swimming: seafood lunches, older neighbourhoods and glimpses of the working coast. Boats, harbour activity and simply prepared local food keep the Algarve’s maritime heritage visible.
The Landscape
Around Ingrina, the coast is characterised by high cliffs, broad Atlantic horizons and a mix of sheltered south-facing bays and exposed west-facing beaches. A short journey can move from a sheltered south-facing bay to a fully exposed Atlantic shore. Orientation is decisive: a protected south-facing cove can behave very differently from a west-facing Atlantic beach nearby.
A walk shows where the shore opens, where rocks or channels interrupt it and how closely human activity sits beside natural ground. The location feels Algarvian, but not interchangeable with its neighbours.
