About Cala Rajada
Cala Rajada combines a working harbour, resort life and quick access to some of northeast Mallorca’s most attractive coves.
The waterfront is animated by fishing boats, excursion craft and restaurants, while residential streets climb gently behind.
Nearby beaches range from sheltered town coves to the more open sands of Cala Agulla, so conditions can differ within a short distance.
The strongest days here are not necessarily the busiest ones; early morning and late afternoon often reveal the underlying character most clearly.
The experience is strongly seasonal: high summer brings fuller beaches and busier roads, while spring and autumn reveal more of the island’s walking, village and maritime character.

The Setting
The Capdepera lighthouse marks the island’s northeastern point and is the clearest coastal landmark, with Menorca visible on exceptionally clear days.
Cala Rajada developed from the maritime outlet of Capdepera, whose hilltop castle remains the area’s major historic site.
This local history gives context to the harbour, promenade and settlement rather than leaving them as anonymous resort scenery.
Rocky points, pine woods and compact sandy bays create a varied shoreline rather than one continuous beach.
The coast feels exposed to open Mediterranean weather while still offering protected pockets around the harbour.
As elsewhere in the Balearics, the coast is most rewarding when the beach is treated as part of a wider landscape of old towns, dry-stone country and short coastal walks.
It suits visitors who enjoy a real port atmosphere and the option to explore several beaches on foot or by short journey.
Morning light usually clarifies the landforms, while the later sun brings more colour to rock, buildings and water.
Conditions should be checked at the exact beach being used, because a neighbouring bay or headland may behave quite differently.
