About Muro Beach
Playa de Muro is a long northern Mallorcan beach known for pale sand, extensive shallows and a relaxed family atmosphere.
Different sections range from fully serviced resort frontage to quieter dune-backed stretches.
The Bay of Alcúdia often provides gentler conditions, though northerly weather can still bring waves and currents.
Rather than offering only one fixed mood, the location changes with season, wind and the movement of people along the waterfront.
As elsewhere in the Balearics, the coast is most rewarding when the beach is treated as part of a wider landscape of old towns, dry-stone country and short coastal walks.
Today's Beach Report
Saturday, July 11, is shaping up to be a beautiful day along our stunning coastline, with its vast, pristine stretch of white sand backed by natural dunes and wetlands. This morning, the clear skies and light winds are setting the tone for a wonderful day ahead, perfect for all sorts of outdoor activities. As the day unfolds, we can expect more of the same, with clear skies continuing through to the afternoon, making it ideal for anyone planning to spend time outdoors, whether that's swimming, surfing, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying a leisurely walk along the beach.
The beach conditions are looking particularly inviting, with a calm and gentle surf, and the nearshore waves are a flat 0.2m, making it ideal for paddleboarding. The water temperature is a warm 27.5°C, perfect for swimmers and surfers alike. With these conditions, it's a great day to get in the water, whether you're a seasoned surfer or just looking to cool off. Paddleboarders will love the glassy conditions, and swimmers will enjoy the warm and calm waters. Surfers can expect some gentle waves, making it a great day to catch some waves and enjoy the ride.
For runners and cyclists, the morning conditions are perfect, with light winds and clear skies making for a comfortable and enjoyable ride or run. However, as we head into the afternoon, it's essential to remember that the UV index is forecast to reach a very high peak of 9, so it's crucial to avoid direct sun between 12pm and 4pm and to wear full coverage to protect your skin. If you're planning a tennis match or a bike ride, be sure to plan around these hours or take necessary precautions. The light winds are expected to continue, which should make for a pleasant ride or run, but do keep an eye on the conditions as the afternoon develops.
As the afternoon develops, we can expect the clear skies to continue, making for a beautiful day outdoors. By lunchtime, it's still looking great, with plenty of sunshine and light winds. As we head into this evening, the sky conditions are a bit uncertain, but with temperatures remaining warm, it's still a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the evening air. Whether you're planning a sunset sail, a evening run, or just a leisurely walk along the beach, it's shaping up to be a wonderful day. So, make the most of it, get outdoors, and enjoy all that our beautiful coastline has to offer. Have a great day, and we'll see you out there.

The Setting
S’Albufera de Mallorca, the Balearic Islands’ largest wetland, lies immediately behind parts of the coast and is the area’s defining natural anchor.
Traditional settlements such as Muro and Sa Pobla sit inland, contrasting with the modern beach development.
The landmark is not simply decorative; it helps orient the coast and connects present-day leisure with earlier patterns of defence, trade or fishing.
White-gold sand, low dunes, pine and tamarisk vegetation lead toward clear, shallow-looking water.
The horizon is broad and low, very different from Mallorca’s cliff-bound coves.
The experience is strongly seasonal: high summer brings fuller beaches and busier roads, while spring and autumn reveal more of the island’s walking, village and maritime character.
Playa de Muro suits families, walkers and anyone wanting beach space, while the wetland adds genuine ecological interest.
The landscape is best appreciated slowly, allowing time for a promenade walk, a viewpoint and a second look at the sea before swimming.
The visual calm of a sunny day should never replace local flags, lifeguard advice or a direct check of waves and currents.
