About Playa Camp de Mar
The beach has a polished resort atmosphere without the scale of Magaluf or Palmanova. Families use the gently shaped bay, hotel guests move between terraces and sand, and visitors gather around the bridge and waterfront restaurants. Summer days are sociable, while mornings and the shoulder seasons feel noticeably quieter. The bay is also popular with visitors arriving for a leisurely lunch.
The enclosed shape often reduces wave action, but swimming conditions still depend on wind, boat movement and local management. Flags and marked channels should be respected. The central sand can become busy, so visitors looking for more space may prefer the edges of the bay or a walk along the coastal paths.

The Setting
Camp de Mar is a sheltered sandy bay in the municipality of Andratx, backed by hotels and low wooded hills. Its best-known feature is a small offshore islet reached by a narrow footbridge, creating one of south-west Mallorca's most recognisable beach scenes.
The Illeta islet is the immediate landmark. A restaurant occupies the rock, and the footbridge crossing has become part of the identity of Camp de Mar. It should be treated as an access route rather than a diving platform, with care taken around boats and changing water depth.
Andratx town and Port d'Andratx lie a short journey away, offering a contrasting mix of inland market-town life and working harbour scenery. The nearby route towards Cap Andritxol climbs through pine-covered ground and opens broader views over the south-west coast.
Fine sand curves around a compact turquoise-looking bay framed by rocky points and green slopes. Hotels and holiday buildings are clearly present, yet the low hills prevent the setting from feeling completely urban.
The islet divides the view and gives the beach a distinctive centre. Beyond it, open Mediterranean water appears between the headlands, while closer to shore the bay feels contained and manageable. Camp de Mar works particularly well for visitors who want reliable resort convenience, a scenic swimming setting and easy access to Andratx's varied coastline.
