The Vibe

Arroyo de la Miel is a busy urban beach where the rhythm of the Costa del Sol is felt from morning until evening.

Hotels, holiday apartments, and good public transport bring families, couples, and visitors from across Benalmádena. It is social rather than secluded, with lifeguards, sun loungers, nautical activities, and a constant flow between the promenade and the sea.

Moderate waves bring energy without defining it as a surf beach. Near the small breakwater, the water can become clearer and more sheltered, creating an appealing place for careful snorkelling when conditions permit.

The Local Anchor

The beach takes its name from Arroyo de la Miel, the inland town centre that developed around an eighteenth-century industrial settlement and now forms one of Benalmádena’s principal neighbourhoods.

Its modern identity blends local life with tourism: cafés, shops, transport links, and cultural spaces connect the beach with the wider municipality. Inland, Parque de la Paloma offers a green counterpoint to the developed seafront, while Benalmádena Pueblo preserves a more traditional Andalusian atmosphere on higher ground.

The Landscape

The beach is approximately one kilometre long, with a sandy seabed and a developed urban backdrop.

The small rocky structures add variety to an otherwise open shore and support marine life including anemones, limpets, small crabs, and sea urchins.

Arroyo de la Miel is best understood as a fully equipped holiday beach: accessible, active, family-oriented, and closely connected to the everyday movement of Benalmádena.
