About San Pedro
The Vibe
San Pedro is a short but remarkably broad beach beside the village of O Pindo, where pale sand opens towards calm water beneath one of Galicia’s most distinctive granite mountains.
The atmosphere is spacious and local. Its unusual width creates room for families, walkers and quiet summer gatherings without the beach feeling compressed. Boats and the small harbour remain close enough to remind visitors that this is a lived-in coastal settlement rather than an isolated Atlantic wilderness.
The water is generally more sheltered than on Carnota’s exposed outer beaches, although local conditions and flags should always guide bathing.

The Setting
San Pedro — A Broad Shore Beneath Monte Pindo
The Local Anchor
The village of O Pindo provides the immediate local anchor.
Fishing and small-boat life have long shaped this shore, while the enormous granite form of Monte Pindo rises directly behind the houses. Its bare rock, ridges and changing cloud give the beach a dramatic inland backdrop very different from the flat dune landscape farther south at Carnota.
A short distance along the coast, the River Xallas reaches the sea at O Ézaro, linking San Pedro with one of the area’s best-known natural landmarks.
The Landscape
Official beach records describe San Pedro as approximately 250 metres long and as much as 160 metres wide.
The surface is fine white sand and the usual bathing conditions are described as calm. Although classified as urban because of its proximity to O Pindo, occupation is normally low.
Showers, foot-washing points, bins, cleaning and straightforward road access provide basic convenience. The small port of O Pindo lies roughly one kilometre away.
San Pedro’s identity lies in proportion: a modest length of shoreline widened into a generous sandy space, with calm water ahead and the granite mass of Monte Pindo rising immediately behind the village.
