About Bahía de las palmeras
The Vibe
Playa Cavanna follows the lagoon side of La Manga, a narrow urban beach where the Mar Menor reaches the shore with a quieter rhythm than the Mediterranean beyond the strip.
The setting is developed. Roads, hotels and residential buildings belong to the view, and summer occupation can be high. Yet the beach itself remains linear and open, extending along the water rather than gathering inside a cove. The lagoon’s broad horizon softens the density behind it and gives the shore a sense of space.
This is a functional holiday beach, defined less by seclusion than by easy access, shallow water and the daily life of La Manga.

The Setting
Playa Cavanna — A Long Margin of the Mar Menor
The Local Anchor
La Manga del Mar Menor is the essential context: a narrow coastal barrier separating the Mediterranean from the Mar Menor lagoon. Playa Cavanna lies around kilometre three of the Gran Vía, on the inner, lagoon-facing side.
That position explains its character. The Mediterranean beaches are only a short distance across the strip, but Cavanna belongs visually and physically to the calmer inland sea, with the opposite shore visible across the water in clear conditions.
The Landscape
Regional tourism information lists Playa Cavanna as an urban beach approximately 700 metres long and 18 metres wide. Its surface combines fine sand and gravel, and the official description classifies the bathing conditions as calm.
Roadside and designated parking serve the beach from Gran Vía, exit 21. Seasonal facilities include toilets, drinking water, footbaths, beach bars, play space and equipment hire. Accessibility provision includes wooden walkways and adapted facilities, although official assessments note that some elements remain only partially equipped. The landscape is therefore managed and urban, but its long, narrow form preserves a continuous edge between La Manga and the Mar Menor.
