About Larga
The Vibe
Calblanque presents a different Murcia coast: Mediterranean water, ochre-gold sand and dry hills rising behind a shoreline with little urban intrusion.
The beach belongs to a protected regional park, and that status is visible in the absence of a conventional resort frontage. Wind, scrub, dunes and the long line of the sea shape the atmosphere. Visitors arrive, but the landscape remains larger than the facilities, with each element held in a broad coastal setting.
It is a place of space and restraint, where the appeal lies in the contrast between pale sand, dark relief and clear water.

The Setting
Playa de Calblanque — Ochre Sand Beneath the Coastal Hills
The Local Anchor
Playa de Calblanque lies within the Parque Regional de Calblanque, Monte de las Cenizas y Peña del Águila, south of the Mar Menor. The protected area combines coastal lagoons, salt flats, fossil dunes, Mediterranean scrub and mountain slopes, supporting habitats and species of regional importance.
The Las Cobaticas visitor facilities and the park’s marked routes provide orientation, but access management is deliberately cautious. Seasonal restrictions limit private motor vehicles, and shuttle arrangements may operate during the busiest periods.
The Landscape
The verified BWID and coordinates identify Playa de Calblanque, not Playa Larga elsewhere in the same protected coastline. Current water-planning records give the monitored beach a length of roughly 310 metres, while regional tourism information describes fine golden sand and a protected natural setting.
Behind the shore, fossil dunes, salt-influenced ground and arid slopes create a landscape uncommon on developed stretches of the Costa Cálida. Parking and beach access are regulated to protect that environment, so visitors should check the current park arrangements before travelling. The result is not an untouched wilderness, but a carefully managed natural beach where conservation, rather than construction, determines how the coast is experienced.
