About La Paloma

The Vibe

La Paloma occupies a quieter stretch of the Casares shoreline, where sand, rounded stones, and low rocky formations give the beach a more rugged character than the broad resort sands nearby.

The atmosphere is open and informal. Clear water gathers around the rocky margins, making the beach attractive for careful snorkelling during calm conditions, while the mixed surface encourages visitors to choose their place according to comfort and tide.

Residential buildings and coastal development are present, but the shore retains a sense of separation through its rocks, stream outlet, and the historic stone landmark that gives the area its name.

The Setting

La Paloma — Stone and Clear Water on the Casares Coast

The Local Anchor

The beach belongs to Casares, a municipality stretching from the Mediterranean coast to one of Málaga province’s best-known white villages.

Inland, Casares rises dramatically beneath the remains of its medieval fortress, creating a striking contrast with the low coastal strip. The beach area is more closely connected to Casares Costa, where restaurants and residential neighbourhoods serve visitors without erasing the quieter character of the shore.

The Landscape

La Paloma lies east of the Torre de la Sal and extends towards Piedra Paloma, the historic coastal rock marking the municipal boundary.

The Arroyo de la Jordana reaches the sea along this section, adding a small natural break in the shoreline. Sand and stones alternate underfoot, while rocky areas continue into the water.

Its semi-urban setting and clear shallows give it a balanced identity: accessible but not highly commercial, developed but still shaped visibly by stream, stone, and the Mediterranean.
