The Vibe

El Pinet is a long natural beach where fine golden sand, dunes and pine woodland create one of the quietest coastal landscapes in the municipality of Elche.

The atmosphere changes along the shore. Some sections feel almost undeveloped, with sand and vegetation extending inland, while a small group of mid-twentieth-century seafront houses and restaurants gives the central area a distinctive local character.

The beach is spacious rather than theatrical. Wind moves through the pines, the horizon remains open and the nearby salt-marsh landscape brings birds and changing light to the wider setting.

The Local Anchor

The nearest local anchor is the hamlet of La Marina, while Elche itself lies well inland among its famous palm groves.

Immediately north, the Salinas de Santa Pola form a protected wetland shaped by salt production, shallow lagoons and birdlife. To the south, the dune and pine systems continue towards La Marina and Guardamar del Segura.

Restaurants close to the older beachfront houses provide a modest human focus, serving rice, fish and Mediterranean dishes beside a coast otherwise dominated by natural features.

The Landscape

El Pinet extends for almost two kilometres along the southern edge of Elche’s coastline.

Its surface is fine golden sand backed by an extensive dune belt and pine forest. Wooden walkways cross the vegetation from parking and access points, helping protect the fragile ground.

Seasonal facilities include lifeguards, toilets, foot-washing points, loungers, parasols and marked bathing areas. A regular bus service connects the beach with Elche.

El Pinet’s identity lies in transition: dry pinewood, shifting dune, salt-marsh country and the Mediterranean meeting along one long, lightly developed shore.
