About Corbeiro

The Vibe

Corbeiro is a tiny sheltered cove close to the centre of Fisterra, where fine sand and quiet water occupy a narrow opening below the rocky edge of town.

The atmosphere is intimate and contemplative. There is little room for crowds, and the cove feels more like a private pause along the coastal path than a conventional beach destination. From the nearby viewpoint, the sea opens towards Monte Pindo and the wide curve of the Ría de Corcubión.

Its protection gives the water a gentler appearance than the exposed western beaches beyond Cabo Fisterra, although the small shore can change considerably with the tide.

The Setting

Corbeiro — A Small Cove Beneath Fisterra

The Local Anchor

The Castillo de San Carlos is the beach’s clearest local anchor.

Built above Fisterra’s waterfront as part of the town’s coastal defences, the fortress now stands close to the harbour and the route leading around the peninsula. The fishing port, old streets and pilgrim movement towards the cape keep Corbeiro firmly connected to the life of the town.

The nearby Miradoiro de Corbeiro provides a broader view of the same coastal setting.

The Landscape

Turismo de Galicia records Corbeiro at approximately 75 metres long, while the municipal tourism service describes a cove of about 85 metres.

Fine sand lies between rocky margins, and the beach is classified as sheltered. It sits within the urban area but remains visually tucked away beneath the coastal slope.

Facilities are limited, so it is better understood as a small town cove than a fully equipped bathing beach.

The CSV spelling Corbeiro follows the Concello de Fisterra, while some regional tourism records use Corveiro.

Its identity lies in intimacy: a pocket of sand beneath the historic town, with harbour, castle and open ría all close at hand.
