Fisterra remains deeply rooted in its seafaring tradition. Just steps from the beach, the harbour’s lonja receives the daily catch, continuing a practice that has shaped the community for generations. The local cuisine reflects the raw character of the Costa da Morte. Among the most prized delicacies are percebes (goose barnacles), harvested from exposed Atlantic rocks by skilled percebeiros. The Landscape

Praia da Ribeira is a small, sheltered crescent of sand within the fishing port, protected from the full force of the Atlantic. Its calm waters contrast sharply with the dramatic open sea just beyond the cape. Colourful fishing boats rest in the harbour, while nets and equipment dry in the coastal light. Above the town, the landscape rises toward Monte do Facho and the surrounding hills, while nearby Cabo Fisterra and its iconic lighthouse mark the true edge of the land — the symbolic “End of the World” for generations of pilgrims and sailors alike.
