Cala Xarraca
The Local Anchor
For over three decades, the Tur family has presided over the cove’s single, unassuming restaurant, a testament to timeless Ibizan tradition. Here, the anchor is not a monument, but a flavour—the authentic guisat de peix. This fisherman’s stew, rich with scorpionfish, grouper, and potatoes, is a cherished island ritual. First, the tender fish is served, followed by rice cooked in the intensely flavourful broth. To partake in this meal at Restaurante Cala Xarraca is to taste the soul of the sea, a culinary heritage served with the simple elegance of a view across the crystalline bay.
The Landscape
A dramatic theatre of nature unfolds at this intimate bay. Rugged, crimson-hued cliffs cradle the cove, their faces dotted with the deep green of resilient pines. The sea itself is a masterpiece of clarity, a sheet of liquid turquoise so transparent that the rocky seabed and its darting inhabitants are revealed in perfect detail. This exceptional visibility makes for sublime snorkelling, an exploration of the vibrant underwater world. To the left of the bay, a natural mud bath offers its mineral-rich balm, an invitation to engage with the raw, restorative elements of this truly magnetic coastline.
