About Cala Moreia

The Vibe

Cala Moreia forms the sandy frontage of S’Illot, a compact east-coast settlement where the beach, promenade and low urban edge sit closely together.

Water meets the rhythm of cafés, apartments and the seafront. A broad strip of sand lies between rocky sections, with the small offshore islet that gives S’Illot its name still visible.

The beach’s urban setting makes it convenient, but not separate from changing marine conditions. Official descriptions differ between calm and moderate wave exposure, a reminder to use the conditions present on the day rather than a fixed label.

The Setting

Cala Moreia — Manacor’s Edge of S’Illot

The Local Anchor

S’Illot stands at the northern limit of Manacor’s coastline, around sixteen kilometres from the inland town. Municipal tourism identifies Cala Moreia as its longest sandy beach, alongside the smaller rocky cove of Cala Morlanda and Caló d’en Rafalino farther south.

The settlement is divided by the municipal edge with Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. A small watercourse, bridge and wharf help define the place, while the prehistoric settlement of S’Illot lies inland on the Sant Llorenç side. This report concerns the Manacor coordinate and bathing-water record, not the adjacent entry for the same named shore.

The Landscape

Spain’s national tourism portal describes Cala Moreia as an urban beach of golden sand, approximately 350 metres long and 35 metres wide. It is reached easily on foot or by road and is backed by a developed seafront.

Seasonal services, cleaning and beach equipment are part of the managed landscape. The natural frame is modest but clear: sand at the centre of the bay, rock towards its margins, and the low island offshore. The result is an accessible town beach whose identity remains tied to S’Illot’s municipal boundary and small maritime features.
