About Playa Paramenn
The atmosphere is open underfoot but visually enclosed by the opposite shore and green hills. At lower tide, the beach expands across the shallow estuary margin, creating long walks beside channels and reflective wet sand. Higher water brings the shoreline closer to the promenade and strengthens the sense of a compact bay. Families, local walkers and visitors to Esteiro use the area without it feeling detached from everyday village life. Water conditions should still be checked, especially around the river mouth and changing tidal channels.

The Setting
Paramean is a sheltered beach in the Muros municipality, situated near the mouth of the Rio Maior in the eastern part of the Ria de Muros e Noia. Fine sand, a long curve and enclosed estuary views give it a relaxed village-coast character. The beach is large enough for walking and family use but remains closely connected to nearby homes, roads and tidal activity. It offers a gentler alternative to the exposed Atlantic beaches farther west around Muros and Louro.
Esteiro and the eastern parish coast of Muros provide the main local reference. Homes, small craft, shellfish areas and roads follow the ria, revealing the settled geography of an estuary shaped by fishing and tidal work. Historic Muros lies farther west, with granite arcades, harbour streets and a stronger urban identity. Paramean belongs to the quieter side of the municipality, where the relationship between villages and water is more immediate and domestic. The Rio Maior adds another practical and visual connection between inland valleys and the ria.
Turismo de Galicia records Paramean as a sheltered beach approximately 400 metres long with fine sand. The official listing also notes its position at the river mouth, a broad promenade, a children's play area and a footbridge across the river. Green slopes surround the ria, and the opposite shore remains visible throughout the view. Tide changes the width and pattern of the strand more than at an open-ocean beach. The result is a layered landscape of sand, shallow water, river channel, promenade and wooded hills rather than one uninterrupted Atlantic horizon.
