About Playa Panxnn
Panxon combines an established seaside town with a generous beach. Families, swimmers, walkers and water-sports users share the sand, especially during the main summer season. The beach is broad enough to absorb activity, while its connection with Praia America creates a shoreline walk of impressive length.
The atmosphere changes through the day. Mornings are popular with walkers and regular swimmers; afternoons bring a livelier holiday crowd; evenings draw people towards the promenade, harbour and restaurants. The wide bay and distant views prevent it from feeling enclosed.

The Setting
Panxon is a long, fine-sand beach in Nigran, occupying the eastern side of the broad bay shared with Praia America. It sits beside a traditional fishing port and village, with Monteferro protecting part of the coast and the Ria de Vigo opening beyond the headlands.
The fishing port of Panxon is the immediate anchor. Small boats, seafood restaurants and the working waterfront give the beach a clear maritime identity. Above the village stands the Templo Votivo do Mar, an unusual twentieth-century church designed by Antonio Palacios and one of the most recognisable buildings on this coast.
Monteferro rises to the west, separating Panxon from Patos and offering woodland paths and viewpoints. The Portuguese Coastal Camino also passes through the area, adding walkers to the everyday mix of residents and beach visitors.
Panxon extends for about one kilometre and has fine sand in a sheltered bay. Its shell-like curve continues towards Praia America, creating a large arc framed by Monteferro on one side and the lower coast towards A Ramallosa on the other.
At low tide, the beach becomes especially spacious and suited to long walks. Higher water brings the shoreline closer to the promenade and concentrates activity. The sea is generally more protected than at Patos, but wind and swell can still enter the bay.
The horizon includes the outer Ria de Vigo and, in clear conditions, the silhouettes of the Cies Islands. Closer views are shaped by the harbour, village rooftops and green slopes. Panxon's strength lies in this balance: a practical family beach, a living fishing settlement and a landscape that still feels connected to the wider Atlantic.
