The Vibe

Punta Prima is the northernmost beach on the Orihuela coastline, a compact strip of golden sand positioned where the municipality meets Torrevieja.

The atmosphere is urban, practical and popular. Residential developments rise behind the shore, visitors move along the upper promenade and the beach fills quickly during the main summer weeks. The water is generally calm, giving the cove an approachable character despite the surrounding rocky coastline.

Views from the higher path extend north towards Torrevieja and south across the broken sequence of coves forming Orihuela Costa.

The Local Anchor

The local anchor is the Punta Prima residential district and its long seafront walk.

Unlike the historic centre of Orihuela, which lies far inland, this part of the municipality developed around coastal living, holiday apartments and access to the Mediterranean. Restaurants and services are integrated into the neighbourhood rather than concentrated in an old fishing quarter.

The boundary with Torrevieja gives the beach a transitional character, marking the point where two highly developed Costa Blanca municipalities meet.

The Landscape

Punta Prima is approximately 234 metres long and around 28 metres wide.

Its surface is golden sand and official records describe generally calm bathing water. Rocky edges and low cliffs frame the beach, while the urban district rises immediately behind it.

An elevator from the upper level improves accessibility, supplementing pedestrian approaches from the promenade. Seasonal services include toilets, foot-washing points, tourist information, cleaning, loungers and parasols.

The nearest marina is at Cabo Roig, several kilometres to the south.

Punta Prima’s appeal lies in perspective and access: a small urban beach below a high promenade, opening across the Mediterranean at the very northern edge of Orihuela Costa.
