About C'an Pere Antoni
The Vibe
Can Pere Antoni places a broad strip of sand directly beside Palma, bringing the sea into the daily movement of the city rather than separating it behind a resort district.
The promenade carries walkers and cyclists along the bay, traffic remains part of the wider soundscape, and the urban skyline is always present. Yet the open water creates space in front of the city, especially when viewed back towards the old centre and the cathedral rising above the shore.
Its convenience does not amount to a permanent judgement on swimming conditions, which should always be taken from current flags and official notices.

The Setting
Can Pere Antoni — Palma’s Sand Below the Cathedral
The Local Anchor
The defining landmark is La Seu, Palma’s cathedral, seen across the water with the old city behind it. Few beaches on the island have such a direct architectural relationship with the capital.
To the east, the seafront route continues towards Portixol, Ciutat Jardí and Platja de Palma. To the west, the promenade leads back towards the historic waterfront. This continuity explains why Can Pere Antoni functions both as a destination and as a pause along a much longer coastal walk or cycle journey.
The Landscape
Palma’s tourism authority describes a beach more than 700 metres long and around 30 metres wide. It is sandy, fully urban and backed by the Paseo Marítimo, with easy access on foot, by bicycle and by public transport.
The managed setting includes seasonal lifeguarding and adapted bathing infrastructure, together with toilets, showers and access points for people with reduced mobility. These facilities sit within a hard-edged city landscape rather than dunes or cliffs. The contrast is the beach’s character: pale sand and open bay in the foreground, Palma’s roads and buildings immediately behind, and the cathedral holding the western view.
