The Vibe

El Puerto is an urban beach wrapped around the small harbour of Torre de la Horadada, where golden sand, calm water and marina activity create a lively village shoreline.

The atmosphere is practical and family-oriented. Boats enter and leave close by, swimmers use the sheltered water and summer visitors move easily between the beach, promenade and nearby restaurants. Occupation is high during the main season, but the harbour gives the area a more local character than a purpose-built hotel resort.

The sound of rigging and small craft mingles with ordinary beach life throughout the day.

The Local Anchor

The immediate anchor is the marina and Club Náutico of Torre de la Horadada.

The club organises sailing courses and summer regattas, preserving an active nautical role beyond simple boat mooring. A short walk away, the sixteenth-century Torre de la Horadada stands on the coast as part of the old defensive network built to watch for raids from the sea.

The modern settlement takes its name from this tower and has grown around a series of small beaches and coves.

The Landscape

Official tourism records describe El Puerto as approximately 684 metres long and around 30 metres wide.

The beach is formed from golden sand and is generally associated with calm bathing water. Its urban setting includes direct road and pedestrian access, local housing and the harbour immediately beside the sand.

Facilities include toilets, foot-washing points, tourist information, cleaning and seasonal lifeguard cover. The marina provides ramps, sailing activity and the strongest visual feature of the beach.

El Puerto’s identity is inseparable from the harbour: a busy but approachable shore where bathing, boating and village life meet within one compact bay.
