About Mil Palmeras
The Vibe
Mil Palmeras is one of Pilar de la Horadada’s most popular beaches, a broad urban shore of golden sand, seasonal kiosks and a pedestrian district filled with restaurants.
The atmosphere is lively and strongly family-oriented. Summer brings high occupation, watercraft and beach services, while the promenade remains active into the evening. The sea can carry moderate waves, giving the beach more movement than the sheltered coves around Torre de la Horadada.
Outside the busiest season, Mil Palmeras continues to function as a social beach through organised sports and wellness activities.

Mil Palmeras — A Lively Southern Costa Blanca Beach
The Local Anchor
The local anchor is the Mil Palmeras neighbourhood, built around the shoreline and the pedestrian Paseo Riviera.
Restaurants and terraces sit close to the sand, creating a compact holiday centre rather than a separate historic village. The municipality of Pilar de la Horadada lies inland, while Torre de la Horadada and its watchtower provide the nearest older maritime landmark.
Mil Palmeras also became one of the municipality’s principal accessible beaches, with adapted walkways, assisted bathing equipment and seasonal support.
The Landscape
The Pilar de la Horadada section is approximately 535 metres long and around 30 metres wide.
Its golden sand forms an urban beach bordered by promenades, low development and seasonal hospitality. The Rambla del Río Seco and neighbouring beach sections help divide the wider shoreline before it reaches the municipal boundary with Orihuela.
Facilities include toilets, foot-washing points, loungers, parasols, watercraft rental, tourist information and lifeguard services. It retained Blue Flag recognition in 2026.
Mil Palmeras is defined by activity: a broad, accessible beach where swimming, restaurants and year-round community programmes keep the waterfront in regular use.
