Sant Pol

The Vibe

Sant Pol is a graceful, shallow bay where fine sand, calm water and a line of distinctive seafront houses create one of the Costa Brava’s most recognisable family beaches.

The atmosphere is refined but relaxed. Children play close to the water, swimmers use the marked bathing areas and kayaks or small sailing craft cross the bay. The beach remains lively in summer, yet the curved shoreline and historic architecture give it more character than a conventional resort strip.

The water is generally shallow and clear, although all bathing still depends on the day’s flags and sea conditions.

The Local Anchor

The beach belongs to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, a town shaped by its Benedictine monastery, cork industry, fishing and maritime trade.

Sant Pol lies north of the centre, close to S’Agaró, and preserves a row of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century houses associated with the early development of coastal leisure. Their façades and traditional beach cabins form an important part of the bay’s identity.

The nearby town provides restaurants, cultural spaces and a stronger working-harbour atmosphere.

The Landscape

Sant Pol occupies an open bay of fine sand with calm, shallow water.

Small surviving dune formations are especially important, representing some of the last coastal dunes in this part of the Costa Brava. The Parc de les Dunes children’s area reflects efforts to combine recreation with awareness of the habitat.

Services include lifeguards, accessible bathing support, toilets, showers, loungers, parasols, volleyball and a water-sports centre offering activities such as sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, diving and boat hire.

Sant Pol blends natural and architectural detail: dunes at the back, clear water ahead and historic villas following the curve of the bay.
