Playa de Calas de Santiago Bernabeu

The coves are sociable and convenient, with families moving easily between the promenade, sand and nearby streets. Their divided layout creates smaller bathing spaces than a single open beach, which can feel reassuring in settled weather and makes it easier to choose a quieter corner away from the busiest access points.

Summer use is high, especially near ramps, beach services and the central promenade. The enclosing structures reduce some wave exposure, but flags and lifeguard guidance still matter because wind, boat movement and local currents can alter conditions. The sand is open to the sun, so shade should be planned rather than expected.

Calas de Santiago Bernabeu are three linked urban coves on the eastern side of Santa Pola's centre, beside Levante beach and close to the harbour. Dark-golden sand, protective breakwaters and a broad seafront walk give the area the feel of a carefully shaped city beach rather than a natural inlet.

Santa Pola's harbour and fishing identity are the strongest local references. Boats, marina activity and the route towards the town centre remain visible parts of the day, while the nearby Castillo-Fortaleza and Glorieta place the beach within the historic heart of the municipality rather than an isolated resort strip.

Levante beach begins immediately to the west, creating an almost continuous urban waterfront. Restaurants, shops and transport are therefore close at hand, but visitors should distinguish the separate coves and marked access channels when entering the water or walking along the shore.

The coastline here is engineered into three rounded sections by low breakwaters and sea walls. This gives each cove a contained shape, with dark-golden sand in front and the promenade, apartments and town facilities behind.

The view opens south across Santa Pola Bay, while the harbour structures frame the western side. There are no cliffs or dunes; the attraction is the orderly meeting of town and sea.
