The Vibe

Platja de Llevant runs alongside Santa Susanna’s main hotel district, creating a broad, energetic beach shaped by family holidays, sports and easy access to the Mediterranean.

The shore is lively in summer but spacious enough to absorb a considerable number of visitors. Golden, relatively coarse sand slopes towards water that can develop moderate waves, especially when onshore wind strengthens. It is a beach for ordinary bathing when flags permit, but the steeper entry deserves attention from children and weaker swimmers.

The promenade and hotels keep cafés, services and accommodation close at hand.

The Local Anchor

Santa Susanna’s modern coastal strip lies more than a kilometre from the older inland centre.

Behind the hotels, the municipality retains agricultural land, traditional farmhouses and a group of historic watchtowers built when coastal raids were a persistent threat. This contrast between resort frontage and older rural settlement gives Santa Susanna a more layered identity than the seafront alone suggests.

The railway and N-II connect the beach with the wider Maresme coast and Barcelona.

The Landscape

Official records give Platja de Llevant a length of approximately 815 metres and a width of around 30 metres, though local measurements vary with beach conditions.

The surface is golden sand, and the beach is classified as semi-urban, windy and subject to moderate waves. Hotels and the seafront promenade occupy much of the land behind it.

Seasonal facilities include lifeguards, showers, toilets, walkways, loungers, parasols, nautical rental, sports areas, children’s activities and accessible bathing assistance.

Platja de Llevant is Santa Susanna’s principal resort beach: open, well equipped and defined by the meeting of hotel life, coarse sand and the energetic Maresme sea.
