About Porto Pí
The Vibe
Porto Pi lies south of Tossa de Mar, where coarse sand and clear Mediterranean water occupy two connected sections beneath a steep, partly developed coastline.
The atmosphere is quieter than the town’s central beaches. There is no full promenade or organised line of services, and the cove feels shaped more by rock, vegetation and the movement of the sea than by resort activity.
A staircase and ramp connect the two parts of the beach, creating a shoreline that feels divided into separate rooms. When the water is calm, the setting can appear sheltered and inviting, but the steep ground above remains an important part of the experience.

The Setting
Porto Pi — Two Small Shores Beyond Tossa
The Local Anchor
The local anchor is Tossa de Mar, whose Vila Vella walls and towers form one of the most recognisable historic seafronts on the Costa Brava.
Tossa’s old town, fishing history and sheltered bay provide a strong contrast with Porto Pi’s lightly equipped setting. Restaurants in and around the town reflect the wider maritime tradition through fish stews, seafood and Catalan coastal cooking.
Porto Pi sits beyond this celebrated centre, offering a more modest encounter with the same rugged coastline.
The Landscape
The beach is approximately 230 metres long and around 16 metres wide.
Its sand is coarse and the surrounding area is classified as semi-urban. No regular beach facilities are provided, so visitors need to arrive prepared and remove everything they bring.
The slopes above are vulnerable to rockfall. Tossa’s tourist office currently advises against access because of landslide risk, and local restrictions should always be checked before attempting to reach the beach.
Porto Pi’s character lies in its division and restraint: two small stretches of shore connected beneath steep ground, close to Tossa yet very different from its supervised town beaches.
