About Les Devesses
The Vibe
La Devesa is the rare place where Valencia’s coastline feels almost entirely claimed by nature.
The beach runs for kilometres beside dunes, pinewoods and the wet depressions known locally as malladas. There is no continuous resort frontage and no urban promenade pressing against the sand. Instead, wind moves through palmetto, lentisk and honeysuckle, while birds cross between the Mediterranean and the wetlands of L’Albufera.
The shore is broad, open and exposed to changing sea conditions. Even in summer, its scale allows quieter stretches to remain beyond the principal access points.

The Setting
La Devesa — Valencia’s Wild Albufera Shore
The Local Anchor
The local anchor is L’Albufera Natural Park, the lagoon, rice-growing landscape and dune system that define Valencia’s southern coast.
Nearby El Palmar preserves a strong relationship with fishing and rice cultivation. Restaurants around the lagoon are associated with paella, all i pebre and other dishes shaped by freshwater fishing and the surrounding fields.
La Devesa belongs to this protected landscape rather than to the city beach culture of Malvarrosa and Cabanyal.
The Landscape
The official beach extends for approximately five kilometres between the Gola de Pujol and the Gola del Perellonet.
Golden sand is backed by a developed dune system, pine forest, lagoons and interdunal hollows. The area lies within one of the most highly protected parts of L’Albufera Natural Park.
Access and services are concentrated around designated points such as the Casal d’Esplai, where seasonal lifeguards, toilets, adapted access and limited parking are provided.
The CSV name “Les Devesses” has been standardised to the official municipal name La Devesa.
Its character is defined by distance: a long, natural shore where Valencia recedes behind dunes, forest and wetland.
