The Landscape

Facing the south east side of La Palma, Piedra Nueva is framed by dry slopes, strong sun and water that can look deceptively gentle between wind-driven intervals.

Black or charcoal shore material gives the foam a bright edge and makes changes in water colour especially visible. A cautious approach preserves the pleasure of Piedra Nueva without treating a volcanic Atlantic shore as predictable.
