About Playa Llarga
The beach has a sociable, family-oriented character. Summer brings local residents, holidaymakers, swimmers and people using the promenade for walking or cycling. Its length allows activity to spread out, although central access points and supervised zones become busy during warm weekends.
Platja Llarga suits a full beach day, but its open position means conditions cannot be judged by appearance alone. Wind can raise short waves, and the water deepens differently after storms have shifted the sand. Flags and lifeguard advice should guide swimming.
The beach also works well outside summer. The promenade and firm lower sand provide long, level routes, and the quieter months reveal a more local side of Cubelles.

The Setting
Platja Llarga is Cubelles' main long beach, extending along the town's central seafront with golden sand and a broad Mediterranean outlook. It is closely connected to residential streets and the promenade, making it the most straightforward choice for visitors who want services and easy access.
Cubelles' historic centre lies inland around the church of Santa Maria and the old castle area. The town is associated with clown and performer Charlie Rivel, whose local museum preserves his connection with Cubelles.
The River Foix reaches the sea east of the central beach system and creates an important wetland and bird habitat. Visitors should treat the river mouth as a natural area rather than a normal swimming channel, especially after rain or when currents are visible.
Platja Llarga forms a long, mostly straight band of sand backed by promenade and low urban development. Breakwaters and neighbouring beach sections influence parts of the coast, but the central view remains broad and open.
Morning light spreads across the Mediterranean, while afternoon sun reaches the upper beach from behind. The sand width changes with storms and seasonal movement, and occasional stony patches may appear near the waterline.
The landscape is not dramatic, but its scale is valuable. Town, railway connections and services remain close, while the open horizon prevents the beach from feeling enclosed. Platja Llarga is Cubelles' everyday seaside space: accessible, active and large enough for both summer crowds and quiet coastal walks.
