Playa Pedregalejos-Acacias

Pedregalejo is lively, sociable and used as much for eating and walking as for bathing. Families occupy the protected-looking coves, runners follow the promenade and restaurants remain active from lunch into the evening. The sequence of small beaches spreads visitors more evenly than one uninterrupted shore.

Breakwaters shape the coves and often reduce wave movement, although conditions still vary. Seasonal services, accessible facilities and the continuous promenade make the area easy to use. Summer evenings are especially busy when residents and visitors gather for food beside the water.

Playa Pedregalejos-Acacias covers the celebrated eastern Malaga waterfront around the former fishing district of Pedregalejo and the adjoining Acacias section. Its linked sandy coves, long promenade and concentration of chiringuitos make it one of the city's strongest neighbourhood beach experiences.

Pedregalejo was historically a fishing neighbourhood, and traditional boats are still associated with the shoreline. The area's chiringuitos are famous for sardine espetos roasted over open fires, along with fried fish, squid and seafood.

The old fishing identity survives within a dense modern restaurant and residential district. Neighbouring El Palo shares the same maritime culture, while the route west leads towards Banos del Carmen and Malaga's central beaches.

Dark golden sand is divided into a chain of compact coves by stone breakwaters. A broad promenade, palms, low houses, apartments and closely spaced restaurants form the immediate backdrop.

The sea horizon remains visible through each cove, while the breakwaters create repeated curves and sheltered-looking corners. Eastward, the shore continues towards El Palo; westward, it approaches Banos del Carmen and La Caleta. Pedregalejos-Acacias is defined by continuity and rhythm: beach, breakwater, restaurant and neighbourhood repeating along one of Malaga's most animated seafront walks. The promenade is one of Malaga's most popular level routes for an evening walk, and the closely spaced coves allow visitors to stop repeatedly without losing sight of restaurants or residential streets. Traditional boat storage areas also remain part of the seafront identity.
