Playa las Chapas

Las Chapas feels spacious, relaxed and less urban than central Marbella. Families and residents use the principal entrances, walkers follow the long waterline and beach clubs create lively pockets without defining the entire coast. Quieter stretches remain between developed areas.

Mediterranean wind and waves can be more noticeable on this open frontage. Sand becomes mixed with small stones in places, and storms may alter the width of individual sections. Seasonal services are available near established accesses, while the long shore rewards visitors prepared to walk away from them.

Playa Las Chapas covers a long eastern Marbella shoreline around Elviria, Marbesa and the low-density coastal districts beyond Los Monteros. Its golden sand, surviving dune vegetation and mixture of chiringuitos, homes and open sections create one of the municipality's most varied beach landscapes.

Elviria provides the main residential and commercial centre inland, with restaurants, accommodation and access to the beach districts. Marbesa and Las Chapas retain a lower-rise character, while nearby Artola-Cabopino preserves one of Marbella's best-known dune systems farther east.

Chiringuitos serve fish, seafood, rice and sardine espetos alongside international menus. The coastline's mix of long-established beach restaurants and modern clubs reflects the broad visitor population of eastern Marbella.

Golden sand extends beneath a broad Mediterranean horizon, backed by dune fragments, scrub, stone pines, gardens and low residential development. Buildings appear in clusters rather than as one continuous wall.

Westward, Los Monteros and Rio Real lead towards central Marbella. Eastward, the shoreline approaches Artola, Cabopino and the Mijas boundary. Inland, wooded hills rise behind the coastal plain. Las Chapas is defined by length and mixture: natural vegetation, residential pockets and serviced beach areas connected by one open sandy coast. The eastern sections provide some of Marbella's longest uninterrupted beach walks, especially when lower water leaves a firmer strip close to the Mediterranean. Access roads pass through residential and hotel areas, so the experience changes quickly from lively chiringuito entrances to quieter dune-backed stretches with fewer buildings directly behind the sand.
