About Playa de la Pallisseta

The Vibe

Summer can be busy because the setting is attractive and access is convenient, but the shore remains more intimate than the municipality's long open beaches. The atmosphere is closely tied to the nearby harbour and the pedestrian life of the Roc, with swimmers, families and evening walkers moving through the same small coastal space.

The Setting

About

Platja de la Pallisseta is a compact family beach in Roda de Bera, set between the Roc de Sant Gaieta and the eastern breakwater of the marina. Its sheltered position and broad sandy area make it feel comfortable and contained, especially for visitors who prefer a smaller beach with clear boundaries.

The Local Anchor

Roc de Sant Gaieta is the immediate landmark. Although it looks historic, the seafront enclave was created in the twentieth century as an imaginative collection of Mediterranean and Iberian architectural styles. Arches, courtyards, narrow passages and viewpoints make it a popular place to explore before or after the beach. On the opposite side, Port Esportiu de Roda de Bera brings masts, breakwaters and maritime activity into view. La Pallisseta therefore sits between two very different human-made coastal features: a picturesque residential ensemble and a functioning leisure harbour.

The Landscape

The beach is roughly 120 metres long and unusually broad for its short frontage. Fine golden sand spreads between the marina wall and the rocky point below the Roc, while the protected water often appears calmer than on the open coast. That shelter does not remove all risk, and swimmers should keep clear of harbour approaches, marked channels and rocks. The beach has public access walkways and a straightforward urban setting, with no cliffs or long descent. Its proportions give it a distinctive shape, closer to a sheltered sandy pocket than a narrow cove. La Pallisseta's identity is precise and local: it is not the neighbouring Punta d'en Guineu, and it is not the long beach beyond the marina. It is the generous patch of sand held between the Roc and the port.
