About La Jaquita Beach

La Jaquita Beach sits on the Alcalá coast in Guía de Isora, offering a quieter west Tenerife bathing setting with volcanic stone, promenade access and views across the Atlantic.

The Vibe

The atmosphere is calm, local and more understated than the main Costa Adeje beaches. La Jaquita does not feel like a large resort strand. It is part of a lower-key coastal zone where small beaches, rocky platforms, hotel frontage and seafront walking paths sit close together.

The mood is good for visitors who want a gentler pace. Families can use the managed bathing area, while walkers enjoy the coastal promenade between Alcalá and neighbouring resort sections. It is social enough to feel comfortable, but it does not carry the same constant pressure as the larger southern beaches.

La Jaquita suits people looking for a Blue Flag beach with a quieter feel, especially those staying around Alcalá or Guía de Isora.

The Setting

The Local Anchor

The local anchor is Alcalá, a former fishing settlement that still gives this part of the coast a more grounded identity than the purpose-built tourist centres. Restaurants, small plazas and the coastal path help connect the beach to the town.

The official 2026 Blue Flag listing names Playa de la Jaquita under Guía de Isora, confirming it as one of the municipality’s recognised bathing beaches.

The Landscape

The landscape is volcanic and Atlantic. Dark rock, small sandy or pebbly sections, low coastal platforms and open sea views give La Jaquita a more natural tone than the pale-sand beaches of Costa Adeje.

It is not a grand beach, but it is useful and atmospheric. The appeal lies in its balance: managed bathing, quieter surroundings, a walkable seafront and a west-coast position that catches strong afternoon light.
