About Cambrils

The Vibe

Cambrils has a softer, more culinary character than many large resorts, combining a working fishing port with long, low beaches and a busy promenade.

The harbour remains central to the town’s identity, while cyclists, families and diners fill the waterfront through the day.

The Costa Daurada shore is generally sandy and gently sloping, though wind and seasonal storms can still produce rougher conditions.

The strongest days here are not necessarily the busiest ones; early morning and late afternoon often reveal the underlying character most clearly.

The Mediterranean is often inviting, but easterly winds and short-period storms can change an apparently gentle shore surprisingly quickly.

Today's Beach Report

Saturday, July 11, is shaping up to be a fantastic day here on our beautiful coast. This morning, we're greeted with clear skies and a moderate breeze, setting the tone for a wonderful day ahead. As we look at the forecast, it's going to be a great day for all sorts of activities, from water sports to cycling and running. With temperatures expected to rise to 31°C, it's going to be a warm and sunny day, perfect for enjoying all that our coastal town has to offer.

The beach conditions are looking excellent, with a calm and gentle surf, and very small ripples of just 0.5m. The water temperature is a warm 27.3°C, making it ideal for swimmers, surfers, and paddleboarders. Whether you're looking to catch some waves or simply enjoy a relaxing swim, the conditions are perfect. And for those planning to head out on a boat, it's worth noting that the offshore conditions are expected to be a bit more choppy, but for beachgoers, the sheltered waters will provide a safe and enjoyable experience.

For runners and cyclists, the morning conditions are ideal, with clear skies and a moderate breeze. However, as the day develops and we head into the afternoon, the wind is expected to die down to light winds, making it an even more pleasant time to get out and enjoy the dedicated paths that run along our beautiful coast. And don't forget to pack your sunscreen, as the UV index is expected to reach a peak of 9, which is very high. It's essential to avoid direct sun between 12pm and 4pm and to wear full coverage to protect yourself from the sun's strong rays.

As the afternoon develops, the skies will become cloudy, but it's still going to be a great day to get out and enjoy the beach or take part in your favorite sports. By lunchtime, the clouds will start to roll in, and as we head into the evening, the sky conditions will become less clear. But don't let that stop you from making the most of your day. With plenty of warm sunshine and gentle surf, it's going to be a fantastic day to get out and enjoy all that our coastal town has to offer. So why not grab your sunscreen, your bike, or your board, and make the most of this beautiful Saturday - we're looking forward to a wonderful day here on the coast.

The Setting

The Local Anchor

The harbour and Torre del Port form the local anchor, linking modern restaurant life to Cambrils’ fishing tradition.

Seafood and rice dishes are central to the town’s reputation, supported by the continuing presence of the fishing fleet.

This local history gives context to the harbour, promenade and settlement rather than leaving them as anonymous resort scenery.

The Landscape

A chain of sandy beaches stretches along a flat coast, broken by small groynes, harbour walls and planted promenades.

The scenery is open and accessible rather than dramatic, with the mountains of southern Catalonia appearing farther inland.

Dry hills, intense light and a long relationship with fishing and maritime trade give this coast a character that extends beyond its modern resort development.

Cambrils suits travellers wanting a relaxed beach base with strong food culture and easy waterfront movement.

Morning light usually clarifies the landforms, while the later sun brings more colour to rock, buildings and water.

Conditions should be checked at the exact beach being used, because a neighbouring bay or headland may behave quite differently.
