La Riera occupies a sandy urban section around the river outlet, between the broader Regueral area and the western beaches of Horta de Santa Maria and La Llosa. Promenade paving, palms, signs and sports spaces form a more visible backdrop than at the outer beaches. The river mouth interrupts the otherwise continuous line of sand and creates a distinctive transition between beach sections.
