About Playa Guainos Bajos
Guainos has a strong neighbourhood character. Homes sit close to the water, local roads reach the shore and summer use can be high, yet the setting remains much smaller and less formal than Adra's central promenade beaches. The line of the settlement follows the narrow space available between the sea and the steep land behind it.
The beach is practical rather than polished. Dark fine sand is mixed with areas of small gravel, and the open coastal aspect can bring movement to the water. People come for direct access, familiar surroundings and the feeling of being on a village shore where the mountain landscape is never out of sight.

The Setting
Playa de Guainos Bajos is the urban beach of the small Adra settlement at the mouth of the Rambla de Guainos. The official bathing-water identifier confirms this location as Playa Guainos Bajos PM1, not Cala Junco, which lies farther east along the same coast.
The Rambla de Guainos is the defining local feature. It reaches the coast beside the settlement and provides a wider access and parking area than the compressed village streets, while walking routes continue inland through the ravine.
Above the coast, the lower slopes of the Sierra de la Contraviesa rise sharply. This close relationship between rambla, hillside and beach explains the narrow form of Guainos Bajos and the linear route of the old coastal road.
Adra's municipal guide describes Playa de Guainos as roughly 900 metres long and 15 metres wide. It is classed as an urban beach with dark sand, some small gravel, showers and waste bins, and it can be reached by car from the settlement or the rambla mouth.
Low rock structures and natural outcrops interrupt parts of the shoreline. White houses, roadside walls and dry slopes form the landward view, while the beach itself remains a slim grey ribbon beside deep blue water. The result is a distinctly local coastal landscape, not the isolated rocky cala described in the previous text.
