Playa de Llevant

Levante is lively from early morning until well after sunset. Families settle near the main access points, walkers follow the promenade and seasonal activity zones add movement to the broad sand. The atmosphere is sociable rather than restful, especially in summer, but the beach is long enough for quieter patches away from the busiest entrances.

The water often looks inviting, yet conditions should always be judged from the flag system and lifeguard guidance. Marked channels, floating platforms and water-sport areas can alter how different sections are used. Early hours suit a calmer swim or walk, while afternoons and evenings bring the strongest sense of Benidorm's holiday energy.

Playa de Levante is Benidorm's best-known eastern beach, a long sweep of fine golden sand backed by a busy promenade and the resort's unmistakable skyline. It is designed for visitors who want a full-service beach day with swimming, cafes, sport and city life close at hand.

Punta Canfali and Benidorm's old town form the historic anchor at the western end. The headland separates Levante from Mal Pas and Poniente, and the Balcon del Mediterraneo provides the classic viewpoint across both sides of the city.

The promenade links the beach directly with restaurants, shops, hotels and public transport. Levante also has an assisted bathing point near Calle Murcia, making accessibility part of the organised beach offer. Visitors wanting a quieter coastal setting can continue towards the small coves below Serra Gelada.

The beach curves beneath high-rise buildings, palms and a continuous seafront, creating one of Spain's most recognisable urban coastal views. Fine sand and a wide waterline contrast with the steep green-grey slopes of Serra Gelada at the eastern end.

There is little sense of wilderness, and that is not the purpose of Levante. Its landscape is the meeting of Mediterranean water and a vertical resort city, with boats offshore, people moving along the promenade and the old town closing the bay to the west. The appeal comes from convenience, scale and the feeling that Benidorm faces the sea all day.
