About Playa Mourisca
The atmosphere is quiet, elemental and strongly shaped by the surrounding land. There is less urban distraction than at Bueu's central beaches, so wind in the trees, water against rock and the changing tide become the main features of a visit. The bay shape offers some shelter, but the headland location still allows weather to transform conditions quickly.
Mourisca appeals to walkers, nature-minded visitors and anyone who values scenery over convenience. The beach can feel secluded outside peak summer periods, although its reputation and accessible beauty mean it is not an unknown secret. Time spent here is best combined with a walk, allowing the wider coast to explain the cove's place within Cabo Udra.

The Setting
Mourisca is a forest-backed beach near Cabo Udra in the parish of Beluso. Its curved bay, pale sand and large granite formations place it within one of Bueu's most natural coastal settings. The shore lies inside the protected Cabo Udra landscape, where woodland, rocky points and small beaches alternate around the edge of the Ria de Aldan.
A remarkably well-preserved former fish-salting factory stands near the beach. It is the surviving reminder of an industry that once operated through numerous factories around Bueu, processing the sea's catch long before modern refrigeration changed coastal trade.
Cabo Udra itself is the wider anchor. Paths lead through a protected landscape containing rocky viewpoints, old shepherd shelters and the remains of a twentieth-century coastal battery. The local nature centre interprets the area's marine and terrestrial habitats.
Pale sand curves beneath wooded slopes and massive weathered rocks. Granite outcrops shape the ends of the bay, while the water opens toward the Ria de Aldan and the outer Morrazo coast. Vegetation reaches close to the shore, giving Mourisca a layered green-and-stone backdrop. The beach's beauty is not based on perfect symmetry; it comes from the irregular meeting of forest, industrial history, rock and sea. Tuia lies nearby on the same protected stretch, allowing the two shores to form part of one unhurried coastal outing.
