Playa Tuia

The mood is natural and open rather than sheltered and village-like. Sea breeze travels easily across the sand, and the headland setting gives the beach a stronger Atlantic presence than the coves inside the Ria de Pontevedra. On settled days, the space feels calm and liberating; when wind rises, the shoreline becomes livelier and more exposed.

Tuia is well suited to visitors who want to pair beach time with walking. It offers more room than the smallest Cabo Udra coves, while still feeling closely tied to woodland and coastal vegetation. There is little reason to rush here. Watching the light move across the rocks and following the curve of the bay are central parts of the experience.

Tuia is a broad, open beach beside the protected Cabo Udra landscape in Beluso. It lies close to Mourisca but has a more expansive relationship with the sea, with a curving shore framed by forest, rural land and granite. Its position beside the headland places it within a sequence of small beaches linked by the paths and rocky scenery of Cabo Udra.

Cabo Udra is the defining reference. The protected headland is valued for its coastal habitats, rocky scenery and views toward the Ria de Aldan. Walking routes connect the beach with Mourisca, Pedron and other small shores around the cape.

The remains of the J-2 coastal battery and traditional shepherd shelters add human history to the landscape. They show that this exposed ground has served military, pastoral and maritime purposes as well as modern recreation.

A pale, curving strand meets open water below forested and rural slopes. Granite rocks punctuate the edges, while fields and woodland soften the land behind the beach. Unlike a harbour-backed shore, Tuia has few strong urban lines; the dominant forms are the arc of sand, the low coastal hills and the widening sea. Its character comes from openness, vegetation and the rugged continuity of Cabo Udra rather than from built attractions.
