About Playa Area de Bon
The atmosphere is peaceful without feeling isolated. Families, walkers and regular local visitors are drawn by the combination of usable sand and green shade, while the rural approach keeps the setting distinct from Bueu's urban beaches. The beach can look calm and inviting, but its open position means wind and sea conditions deserve attention, especially away from the most protected margins.
Area de Bon works well for people who prefer nature around them but still want a substantial beach rather than a tiny rocky cove. The length encourages walking, and the trees create a cooler edge during warm weather. Arriving earlier in the day helps preserve the sense of space during the busiest weeks of summer.

The Setting
Area de Bon is a long, fine-sand beach in the rural parish of Beluso, on the outer Bueu coast. The shore extends for roughly a kilometre and is backed by woodland and fields, with pines descending unusually close to the sand. Although the beach is open to the sea, its broad scale and natural surroundings give visitors room to spread out and settle into a slower day.
The hamlet and farmland of Bon form the local backdrop. Fields, woodland and scattered homes reach toward the coast, showing how closely this part of Bueu still connects rural land use with the sea.
A coastal path links the area with Lagos and the smaller coves toward Cabo Udra. That route reveals a succession of changing shorelines, from wooded sand to rocky points and island-dotted water, making Area de Bon a strong starting or finishing point for a longer coastal walk.
Fine, lightly coloured sand runs in a broad line below pine-covered ground. The forest nearly touches the beach in places, and inland fields add a softer agricultural character behind the trees. The water opens toward the outer coast, while rocky edges interrupt the sand at either end. Area de Bon's appeal lies in this meeting of scale and sheltering greenery: a generous beach set within a landscape that still feels predominantly rural.
