Playa de la Marina

The beach suits visitors who want more room and greenery than a conventional urban frontage provides. Families gather near the easiest approaches, while walkers can find quieter ground by moving along the dune edge. The pines make the surrounding area feel cooler and more sheltered, though their shade does not extend reliably across the open sand.

La Marina faces an open section of the Mediterranean, so swimming conditions should be judged from flags and local guidance rather than from the beach's gentle appearance. Wind can strengthen across the broad shore, and the walk between distant access points becomes hot at midday. Bringing water and using the marked boardwalks makes the visit more comfortable and protects the dunes.

La Marina is a wide sandy beach on Elche's southern coast, set between El Pinet and Les Pesqueres-El Rebollo. Around one and a half kilometres of golden sand, dunes and pine woodland create a natural-looking shore that still remains close to the services of La Marina village.

La Marina village lies a short walk inland and provides cafes, food shops, a pharmacy and other services. It is separate from Elche's main urban centre, which sits well inland, and has developed its own holiday and residential identity around the southern beaches.

Several established campsites and accommodation areas are part of the wider local economy. They bring summer activity without creating a high-rise seafront. The neighbouring beaches also help define this section: El Pinet links north towards the salt marshes, while Les Pesqueres-El Rebollo continues south towards the Segura river area.

Fine golden sand runs beside a substantial dune belt held by grasses, shrubs and pine roots. The forest is the strongest visual boundary, replacing the apartment blocks or promenades found at many Costa Blanca beaches. Gaps in the vegetation reveal a low inland horizon and reinforce the impression of space.

La Marina is not untouched, but development remains set back enough for sand and trees to dominate the waterline. The landscape works through continuity rather than dramatic cliffs: a long strand, repeated dune ridges and a green coastal belt that connects Elche's beach environment with the extensive dune systems farther south.
