About Playa Area da Cruz
The mood combines local summer life with a sense of Atlantic exposure. Families and swimmers use the beach on settled days, and the water can appear tranquil despite the breeze that often moves across the sand. The bay is large enough to feel more spacious than a tiny cove but still compact enough for people to remain close to the shoreline. Wind can change the comfort of a beach day quickly, so sheltered corners and the timing of a visit matter as much as the air temperature.

The Setting
Seixelino is a 275-metre fine-sand beach near Pedras Negras in the San Vicente do Grove parish of O Grove. Its half-shell shape creates a clear, attractive curve, while the open orientation brings more wind than visitors might expect from the calm-looking water. The beach sits in a semiurban setting, close to the western coastal communities and the network of small beaches around San Vicente do Mar. It is a comfortable choice for visitors who want a manageable beach with easy links to nearby walks and restaurants.
Pedras Negras and San Vicente do Mar provide the immediate focus. The marina, coastal homes and places to eat give this side of O Grove a seasonal, maritime character. The celebrated Pedras Negras walkway begins nearby and follows wooden sections and rocky shoreline past small beaches, granite forms and views towards Ons Island. Seixelino can therefore be paired with a morning swim and an afternoon walk, or used as a quieter alternative to stopping directly beside the busiest part of the waterfront.
Fine white sand curves between low rocky edges, with homes, trees and coastal vegetation behind it. The beach is open rather than deeply enclosed, so the sky and wind remain important parts of the scene even when the water looks gentle. Granite outcrops become more prominent along the western shore, previewing the sculpted landscape around Pedras Negras. Seixelino's appeal lies in this balance: a recognisable beach shape, a convenient semiurban position and a direct connection to the more rugged Atlantic scenery of outer O Grove.
