About Playa es Pinet
The beach has a friendly neighbourhood atmosphere. Families use the gentle shoreline, nearby visitors move between sand and waterfront businesses, and evening walkers stop for the changing light across the bay. It is livelier than a rural cove but less intense than Sant Antoni's central waterfront. The level waterfront also supports an easy evening stroll.
Bay conditions often appear moderate, yet swimmers must remain inside marked areas because excursion boats and small craft cross Portmany Bay. Flags and lifeguard advice remain important, and inflatable toys can drift farther than expected when wind moves across the open water. Shade is mainly provided by urban businesses rather than natural vegetation.

The Setting
Es Pinet is a small sandy beach on the Sant Josep side of Sant Antoni Bay, directly opposite the town of Sant Antoni de Portmany. Shallow-looking water, a developed promenade area and broad bay views make it an easy, sociable choice within Cala de Bou.
Punta Pinet forms the immediate geographical marker beside the beach. Across the water, Sant Antoni's harbour, town skyline and western promenade provide constant orientation even though Es Pinet belongs administratively to Sant Josep de sa Talaia.
The wider Cala de Bou district links Es Pinet with Punta Xinxo, Calo d'en Serral and S'Estanyol. These are separate named bathing places, not interchangeable labels for one beach. Local transport and waterfront paths make it practical to explore more than one section during the same day.
Fine sand forms a modest curve beneath low-rise development. The seabed remains shallow near shore in many conditions, with colour shifting from pale turquoise to deeper blue towards the middle of the bay.
The view is the main scenic asset. Boats, opposite buildings and the enclosing hills create a detailed panorama rather than an empty horizon. Late-day light reaches across Portmany Bay and can produce attractive sunsets, though harbour activity remains visible throughout. Es Pinet combines easy access with one of the clearest cross-bay perspectives on Sant Antoni.
