About Playa Bega del Mar
The beach feels spacious, informal and unhurried. Regular summer residents, families and walkers use the shore without the concentrated activity found at larger resorts. The main accesses become more sociable in July and August, yet long stretches retain a sense of room and quiet. Morning light gives the open beach a particularly calm appearance.
Bega de Mar faces open Mediterranean water, so conditions are not always as gentle as the peaceful landward setting suggests. Swimmers should check flags and local guidance, while wind can make the water choppier and increase the effort required to return to shore. Shade and facilities are less concentrated away from the village accesses.

The Setting
Bega de Mar is a long fine-sand beach on Sueca's southern coastline, beside a quiet residential settlement and the flat agricultural plain. Its lower visitor density and broad open shore offer a calmer alternative to the municipality's busier village beaches.
The settlement belongs to Sueca, whose historic town lies inland beyond rice fields and irrigation channels. This agricultural setting is central to the municipality's identity and explains the prominence of rice dishes, water management and seasonal farming in local culture.
Bega de Mar forms part of a linked coastal sequence with Mareny de Barraquetes to the north and Mareny de Vilxes farther south. Each section has its own monitored identity, even though the sandy shoreline and low residential development can appear continuous to a visitor walking along the water.
Fine light-coloured sand stretches along a level coast with a broad horizon and no enclosing headlands. Low homes and coastal vegetation occupy the backshore, while the agricultural plain extends inland with little change in elevation.
The absence of dramatic geology is part of the appeal. Bega de Mar is defined by openness, long views and the repeated rhythm of sand, sea and scattered development. It is particularly suited to visitors who enjoy long walks, quieter mornings and a beach experience connected with Sueca's coastal communities rather than a dense commercial promenade.
