About Playa de Xeraco

The Vibe

Xeraco feels active without the scale or intensity of nearby Gandia. Families, walkers and water-sport users have room to spread along the shore, and the promenade supports a relaxed summer rhythm of cafes, evening strolls and local events. The broad sand means quieter areas can usually be found away from the principal entrances.

The beach faces open Mediterranean water and can receive wind and swell. Flags and lifeguard instructions should guide swimming, while marked craft zones must remain clear. Dune fencing and boardwalks protect the natural backshore, so shortcuts across vegetation should be avoided.

The Setting

About

Playa de Xeraco is a long, broad beach on the northern edge of La Safor, separated from the inland town by marshland and agricultural fields. Fine golden sand, dunes and an open horizon give it a spacious character, while the beach neighbourhood provides the services expected from a settled summer destination.

The Local Anchor

The Torre de Guaita stands near the mouth of the Riu Vaca and is Xeraco's strongest coastal landmark. Built in the sixteenth century, the watchtower formed part of the system used to warn communities of attacks arriving from the sea.

Behind the beach, Xeraco has recovered sections of its marsh and developed routes through the wet landscape. The inland town lies between coast and mountains, giving visitors access to a wider setting of citrus fields, wetlands and paths towards the Monduber area.

The Landscape

The shoreline is long, straight and composed mainly of fine sand. Low dunes and native vegetation form a soft boundary behind the beach before the terrain drops into the marshy plain around the Riu Vaca.

There are no cliffs or enclosing headlands. The landscape gains character from its horizontal layers: sea, beach, dune, wetland and mountain skyline. On clear days, views extend towards Cullera to the north and Gandia to the south. Xeraco is therefore best appreciated not simply as a bathing beach but as the seaward edge of one of La Safor's most varied natural corridors.
