About Playa de la Marina
The beach feels practical, modern and family-oriented. The port walls reduce direct exposure, so the water often appears calmer than on Badalona's open coast. That makes Marina attractive for relaxed swimming when conditions and local notices allow, while the broad sand provides space for sunbathing and play.
It is still a harbour beach, not an isolated natural bay. Boat movements, wind and water quality information should be considered, and visitors should remain within marked bathing areas. The atmosphere is quieter than the central beaches around the station, especially outside summer weekends.

The Setting
Platja de la Marina is a 400-metre beach inside the Port of Badalona, on the city's southern waterfront. Its golden sand, harbour setting and sheltered position give it a different character from the open beaches north of the port. The surrounding district is newer, with marina buildings, promenades and ongoing urban change.
Marina Badalona is the immediate anchor. Sailing boats, harbour services, restaurants and waterfront paths create a contemporary maritime setting, while the Gorg district connects the beach with the wider city.
The port is part of Badalona's long effort to reclaim a coastline once dominated by industry and transport. Walking north reveals the Pont del Petroli and older seafront; looking south, the metropolitan coast continues towards Sant Adria and the Besos area.
Marina lies within an engineered bay, framed by breakwaters and port infrastructure. The sand averages around 40 metres wide, and the harbour walls shape both the view and the movement of water.
Unlike Platja de la Mora, which lies outside the port towards Sant Adria, Marina is an established bathing beach with direct access from Carrer Mar Jonica. The rear area is urban, with parking, roads and new development close by.
The landscape is therefore deliberately made rather than naturally enclosed. Its appeal comes from the combination of open sand, moored boats and a sheltered urban horizon. Visitors looking for cliffs or old-town atmosphere will prefer other beaches, but Marina offers an accessible, spacious beach within Badalona's newest waterfront district.
