About Playa de Cristall
Cristall has a local, straightforward atmosphere. Families and residents use it for swimming, sunbathing and short walks, particularly during the main bathing season. It is less connected to the busy central Rambla than Platja dels Pescadors, which gives it a calmer neighbourhood feel despite the urban setting.
The beach can become popular on warm weekends. Mediterranean conditions are often moderate, but waves may break sharply on the sloping shore after wind or changing weather. Flags and lifeguard advice remain important, and visitors should take care around the points where storm-water channels reach the sand.

The Setting
Platja del Cristall is a 300-metre urban beach on the northern side of Badalona, between Torrent Vallmajor and Riera de Canyado. Golden sand and a broad bathing area sit below the coastal road and railway corridor, with the residential neighbourhoods of Casagemes and Canyado close behind.
Canyado is the immediate anchor, a coastal district with old houses, newer residential streets and access towards the green slopes north of Badalona. Central Badalona lies farther south, where Carrer de Mar, the Rambla and the historic centre provide shops, restaurants and a stronger evening atmosphere.
The Museu de Badalona and the Roman remains of Baetulo reveal the city's much older identity. They are not beside the beach, but they make Cristall a useful part of a day that combines quiet sand with Badalona's history.
The beach averages about 50 metres wide and is bounded by urban infrastructure behind and open Mediterranean water ahead. The railway is a visible and audible feature of this coastline, but once visitors reach the sand the horizon remains clear.
Riera de Canyado and Torrent Vallmajor mark the ends, giving the beach a definite shape. Seasonal storms can redistribute the sand, while calmer periods create a generous upper shore. Low rock and engineered coastal edges appear near neighbouring sections.
Cristall is not a secluded cove, yet it feels less intensely urban than the beaches around the station. Its appeal lies in that middle ground: accessible, spacious enough for families and connected to a part of Badalona where the city begins to loosen towards Montgat.
