About Playa Torre de Sant Vicent

The Vibe

The mood is energetic, family-friendly and noticeably busier around the central promenade. Beach sports, children's play areas and seasonal events bring more movement than at Voramar, while the broad sand provides room for ordinary sunbathing and swimming. Residents use the promenade throughout the year, so the beach retains local life and familiar routines beyond the main holiday season.

The gentle-looking shoreline can still receive waves and changing currents. Swimmers should follow the flag system, remain outside marked craft lanes and supervise children closely near the water. The beach is exposed to strong sun, but cafes and promenade areas provide convenient breaks from the sand.

The Setting

About

Torre Sant Vicent is a broad central beach in Benicassim, named after the sixteenth-century watchtower standing beside its promenade. Fine sand, a wide bathing area and a busy calendar of summer activity make it one of the town's most recognisable and sociable beaches.

The Local Anchor

Torre de Sant Vicent is the defining landmark. Built in the sixteenth century as part of the coastal defence system, it watched for corsair attacks and now stands within a landscaped public space beside the beach. Its square stone form gives the otherwise open waterfront a clear historical focus.

The surrounding amphitheatre and promenade host cultural activities, sports and celebrations during summer, including events linked with the Night of San Juan. Benicassim's inland centre is close, while the historic villa district begins to the north around L'Almadrava and Voramar.

The Landscape

The beach is wider than its northern neighbours, with fine golden sand and an unobstructed Mediterranean horizon. The promenade, tower gardens and low urban frontage frame the shore without enclosing it.

Northward, the coast leads towards L'Almadrava; southward, it continues towards Els Terrers and Heliopolis. From the waterline, the watchtower remains the strongest visual element, rising above palms and landscaped ground. This combination of open sand, active promenade and a surviving defensive structure explains why Torre Sant Vicent feels both modern and rooted in Benicassim's coastal history.
