Playa Dels Tres Micos

The atmosphere is family-oriented and relaxed. The beach is well integrated with the town, so regular swimmers, local residents and holidaymakers mix easily on the sand. Summer brings a fuller, livelier shore, while mornings and evenings are quieter and better suited to walking.

The beach's length provides more room than the compact centre of Caldes might suggest. It suits paddling and swimming when the sea is settled, but the open Mediterranean position means waves can build quickly. Coarse sand and a sometimes steep water entry deserve care, particularly with small children.

Tres Micos is the southern main beach of Caldes d'Estrac, occupying an urban and residential stretch between the central breakwater and the Riera del Gorg, which marks the boundary with Sant Vicenc de Montalt. Coarse golden sand and a seafront promenade give it the classic appearance of a Maresme town beach.

Caldes d'Estrac's thermal spa is the defining local story. Hot mineral water emerging from deep underground has attracted visitors for centuries and helped establish Caldetes as a retreat for Barcelona society. The spa, old centre and steep lanes are only a short distance from the shoreline.

Fundacio Palau adds a cultural dimension, displaying art and archives associated with writer and collector Josep Palau i Fabre. The railway station makes the town easy to reach, while nearby Sant Vicenc de Montalt offers a quieter residential continuation along the coast.

Tres Micos is framed by low breakwaters and the seasonal watercourse of the Riera del Gorg. The promenade runs behind the sand, with villas, apartments and greenery rising gently inland.

The sea view is open and uncluttered. Lower tide exposes a broader walking strip, while higher water compresses the beach and strengthens the sense of an urban frontage. After windy weather, the shore can look noticeably different as waves move coarse sand along the coast.

The beach's landscape is defined by contrasts: warm spa water inland, cool Mediterranean water ahead, and a compact town between them. Tres Micos is accessible and managed, yet the changing sea prevents it from feeling static or artificial.
