About Playa Cala de la Buena
The beach material is mainly fine stones and shingle, so the experience is tactile and practical: footwear helps, towels sit better on a mat, and the retreating water makes a soft rattling sound across the pebbles. The cove can feel peaceful in settled weather, although its limited size means that a modest number of people can change the atmosphere quickly during the busiest weeks.

The Setting
Cala Buena is a compact pebble beach on the El Perello coast, close to Santa Llucia but noticeably more intimate in scale. It attracts visitors who prefer a small natural inlet to a broad serviced shore.
The nearby Punta de la Buena gives the area its clearest point of reference. El Perello has created a coastal viewpoint there whose form recalls an old boat, providing a raised perspective over the rocky shore and the Mediterranean. The GR 92 also passes through this sequence of beaches, linking Cala Buena with Santa Llucia, Morro de Gos and Pont de l'Alia. Inland, the village's honey and olive-oil traditions offer a different expression of the same dry Mediterranean environment. This combination of coast path, viewpoint and agricultural hinterland gives the small beach a stronger local context than its size might suggest.
The cove sits between low rocky projections, with pale pebbles descending into clear water and scrub covering the ground above. There is no large sandy platform and little natural shade, so the beach is best approached with simple equipment and good sun protection. Rock continues beneath the surface around the edges, creating visual interest for careful snorkelling when the sea is calm. In stronger easterly weather, waves can enter directly and reduce the usable shore. The coastal path offers safer views when bathing is unsuitable. Cala Buena is not a polished resort beach; its appeal lies in the close arrangement of stone, vegetation and water, and in the sense that it forms one small chapter in El Perello's rugged four-kilometre coastline.
